The Scary Saturday

The Scary Saturday

One normal sunny day on March 30, 2008, everyone was doing what they normally do on a Saturday afternoon. Everyone was so bust running errands and finishing up their Easter shopping, they didn’t even notice anything strange going on, especially at the bank.
Ellen Fisher despised working as a bank teller at this time. Everyone was withdrawing money from their accounts to spend on nothing but pure junk for Easter gifts. Why not just give the joy of the holidays? Ellen expected this to happen for she had worked at the bank for 35 years. She didn’t notice anything either but her instincts were telling her something strange was going to happen. Symptoms of this feeling were that someone was watching her. Someone bad, bad enough to steal money from a bank, someone ingenious.
Katie and Sean Lartomida were tiered out. They expected this too. With all the commotion going on at the stores, people were getting hurt, there were lots of fights about who had that parking spot first, and even robberies were taking place. As they were driving down Main Street, Katie had the same feeling Ellen did, except she wasn’t as worried as Ellen was. She was a crime investigator of the Portland, Oregon police. She was armed if any one attempted to approach her.
“Let’s go,” Said Richard. The algae were released into the vent by Robert. Richard and Robert were like Robin Hood except the other way around. They stole from the rich and the poor and gave to themselves. Their latest crimes took place at a bank. They had gotten tiered of trying to find peoples houses to steal from. They had traded their phone book for a police car. That was the reason they hadn’t been caught yet. The real police thought that they were just another police car on patrol. They had come up with ingenious plans. Their plans hadn’t exactly worked, so they took their latest plans from the Internet. They had found their most brilliant plan yet. They were going to take algae, shine a flashlight onto it (which they had stolen from Lowe’s), and put it in a wall vent at the bank. Inside the millions of one-celled creatures living on the algae, sunlight’s energy trips a molecular on-switch. The algae’s tiny, whip-like tails start to thrash, turning their bodies toward the the life-giving light, and releasing a chemical that causes paralysis. When it comes out the vent at the bank it will cause the people at the bank to freeze, so the burglars can steal the money without anyone stopping them. Richard and Robert plan to go all over town doing this.
“YOU IDIOT,” Said Richard in a husky whisper. “That was our last piece of algae.” “Now we can’t steal any more money with this plan.”
“Calm down!” Said Robert. “I’m sorry about the algae but look our plan is working.”
“So it is,” Said Richard. “Let’s run and get the money on three.” “One.” “What comes after one?”
“Two,” said Robert.
“Thanks,” said Richard. “One Two Three” The burglars ran in and stuffed tons of money into their sacks.
“Hold it right there,” said Katie and Sean in unison. The burglars were shocked. The algae and run out and this was the first time they had been caught doing a crime.
The burglars gave up. They didn’t have a defense against the crime detectives. After they left, Ellen, who had been in her office, came out and was petrified. “I knew I had a sixth sense,” she thought to herself and smiled.
The End
